Scope
One of the most common questions I receive is, "How do I get started writing an estimate? Scope writing becomes more fluid the more times you do it - it also becomes more sloppy because you overlook common line items. It is like the stain on your driver's seat - after a while, you don't see it anymore. The best way to get started is to stand in the room you are writing the scope in and start with the floor and write all work you are performing on the floor. Move up to the walls and finally the ceiling (if any). Move from room to room. Doing it this way keeps you organized and helps you see the job from a Xactimate estimate point of view.
